Cranage is proud to be a UKAS accredited laboratory as it gives our customers the assurance of quality, impartiality, consistency and knowledge. We strive to continually review and update the tests for which we are UKAS accredited and as such are pleased to confirm the recent addition of the new standard EN 62368.
EN 62368 is the new standard for Information Technology Equipment (ITE) and Audio/Video equipment, which replaces EN 60950-1 and EN 60065. As technology has developed it has become harder to ascertain when a product is no longer ITE and becomes audio/video, so this new standard covers both ITE and audio/video associated equipment.
As of December 2020, all ITE and audio/video components and products must conform to the new standard and EN 60950-1 and EN 60065 will be formally withdrawn.
This new standard also covers components, such as power supplies and hard drives and therefore these must also be compliant with EN 62368.
