Job Description: Test electrical and electronic products using established testing methodologies and document the results. Work under the guidance of a laboratory manager using a variety of test equipment.

An opportunity has arisen for an electronics technician, with a background in product development or testing, to join our new product assessment team in Market Drayton. This team is authorized to evaluate products on behalf of a Toronto-based business which specialises in certification for Canadian and US markets and the International IECEE/CB Scheme.

The technicians role will involve:
• Supporting our customers
• Testing products using calibrated test equipment
• Understanding product safety standards
• Following technical procedures
The Product Safety Technician will be responsible for testing products against published specifications for demonstrating safety, and accurately recording and communicating the results. Ideally applicants would be familiar with accredited working practices in a testing or inspection laboratory.
The successful Product Safety Technician will:
• Be degree qualified or received higher education training
• Have a good understanding of electronic components and their use in circuits
• Be practically minded
• Understand the requirements for product safety and the approvals process
• Hold a full UK driving licence

Cranage Apprenticeships
We are offering a training opportunity in our accredited testing laboratory in Market Drayton, Shropshire. You will work as a member of the testing team assessing many different types of electrical and electronic equipment for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Suitable candidates will receive a combination of work and college based training.
This apprenticeship will require a genuine interest in Science and Technology and is aimed at developing mechanical and electrical skills in a laboratory environment. Successful completion of the Apprenticeship could lead to an exciting career within Cranage, with the possibility of receiving more training for career advancement.
