Croft’s director Neil Burns will also be leading one of the short courses on Additive Manufacturing. WHAT THE SHORT COURSE WILL COVER
The course is led by Croft Director, Neil Burns, and will cover the process and the development of additive industrial parts, as well as information on Designing for Additive Manufacture (DfAM) and how it differs from conventional design. Using their expertise and industry case studies, Croft will demonstrate the potential benefits Additive Manufacturing can deliver to the filtration sector and explain how AM is used in wedge wire, woven mesh, perforated plate, filter housings and component parts, as well as a hybrid of conventional manufacturing and AM.

THE COURSE OBJECTIVES
The course aims to provide attendees with an understanding of the fundamental principles and benefits of Additive Manufacturing (AM) relating to filtration, from concept to completion. Delegates will leave the session familiar with the challenges of AM and strategies to overcome them and will see how AM is already being applied in the filtration industry in terms of its use in wedge wire, woven wire mesh, perforated plate, filter housing and component parts as well as in a hybrid mix of conventional and additive manufacturing processes.

Neil Burns, MBA, MSc is co-director of Croft Filters Limited and Croft Additive Manufacturing Limited, Warrington, United Kingdom. He has over 30 years experience developing and delivering high-quality filtration solutions to a wide range of industries in the UK and worldwide. Neil and his fellow Directors recognised the potential of additive manufacturing, acquired a machine and created a sister company, Croft Additive Manufacturing Ltd. Neil continually expands his skills, attending national and international conferences.
