Enabling PCI Compliance Through A Bespoke Security Solution EDP Europe recently helped a client achieve PCI compliance by designing a bespoke physical security solution. When a major credit card payment processing provider needed a solution for securing and managing access to its hardware security modules (HSM) in order to achieve PCI compliance, EDP Europe was trusted to design a bespoke security solution that met their requirements. 6U Secure Box The client required a rack mountable ‘secure-box’ to house two HSM Servers used to manage highly sensitive encryption keys. With no ‘off-the-shelf’ product available, EDP Europe worked with the client to design a custom solution tailored to their specific needs. The solution EDP Europe produced featured a custom engineered steel sub-frame with front and rear electronic access control (provided by our iAccess system), proximity card and biometric reader offering dual authentication. A further option for adding CCTV was also included within the design. By physically securing their sensitive systems within EDP’s sub-frame and layering electronic access control technology and reporting on top, the client was be able to achieve its PCI compliance objectives by having full visibility, control, and an audit trail of activity across their mission critical systems. Supplied fully assembled ready to ‘plug and play’ at site, this custom system was designed from scratch, manufactured, and delivered to the customer on time within a short lead time.
