Fortress will introduce the Icon X-ray, a next-generation hygienic X-ray system that combines advanced detection with space-saving design. Featuring optional internal cameras and an integrated automatic reject mechanism, it enhances both safety and efficiency.
Powered by Fortress’s proprietary IA+ algorithm, the Icon X-ray adapts to variable-density products and effectively identifies a wide range of contaminants—including metal, ceramic, glass, and dense plastics. The IA+ platform also sets the stage for future machine learning capabilities.
Built for robust, easy-clean operations, the Icon X-ray is equipped with a maintenance-free, air-cooled generator, which not only maximises sensitivity but also extends the equipment’s service life.
Raptor Combi – Smart Retail Inspection
Also on display is the Raptor Combi, a high-performance combination metal detector and checkweigher. Designed for retail-ready food production, it includes sensors at the infeed, outfeed, reject, bin full and bin door stages—ensuring full inspection traceability.
Pre-programmed with all major supermarket Codes of Practice, the Raptor Combi offers 500+ product settings and intuitive HMI screens with guided animations for smooth operation. The featured drop flap reject system separates metal-contaminated products from weight rejects, maintaining uptime and meeting food safety regulations.
Mobile Meat Pump Pipeline with Halo Testing
Fortress will also demonstrate its Meat Pump Metal Detector, developed for meat and poultry processors. The unit includes a removable, ultra-hygienic Delrin scanning pipe, IP69K rating, and custom wrenches for tool-safe maintenance. Mounted on a mobile frame, the system is designed for flexible deployment and rapid connection to vacuum fillers.
Key features such as a rail-mounted reject valve and motorised lift streamline maintenance and improve operator ergonomics.
Automated, Auditable Testing with Halo
To reduce manual testing errors and improve audit compliance, Fortress’s Halo Automatic Testing system will be integrated into the meat pump pipeline demo. Halo enables automated test procedures without inserting physical test pieces, offering reliable, traceable performance verification.
Halo technology is also compatible with Fortress conveyor and gravity-fed systems across bulk, ingredient, and pet food lines. When paired with the Contact 4.0 software, users gain centralised data reporting from multiple inspection points—enhancing factory-wide monitoring and compliance.
