On Tuesday, 5th November, we had the pleasure of hosting an exciting collaborative event with PlastikCity, bringing together industry peers, partners, and sustainability advocates for a memorable day of networking, learning, and new experiences in eco-friendly plastics.
The day kicked off at Honesberie Shooting Ground, where we were welcomed for a morning of clay shooting and a delicious breakfast of bacon rolls. This enjoyable start set the tone for the day, building friendly competition and camaraderie among the group.
After the morning activities, we returned to the Great Central Plastics site, where attendees were given a comprehensive tour. This provided unique insights into our operations as a leading plastic moulder, highlighting our commitment to innovation and sustainable practices in eco-injection moulding. Guests were then treated to an eco-display showcasing some of the initiatives we’re implementing to reduce environmental impact in the plastic moulding industry.
The event featured insightful presentations from industry experts, each sharing valuable perspectives on sustainability and progress within eco-friendly plastics. We had the privilege of hearing from:
-
Kieran Hill from Waterhaul, who discussed innovative methods for reclaiming and repurposing ocean plastic waste,
-
Andrew Rusher from Peakonic, who offered insights into team wellbeing and the benefits of embracing team challenges for increased team morale.
-
Omar Anwar from LXD UK Ltd, who highlighted the importance of sustainable materials and the future of eco-conscious design in plastic moulding.
These presentations sparked engaging discussions, with attendees exchanging ideas and exploring potential collaborations. The event brought together like-minded professionals from across the injection moulding industry, who will no doubt continue these conversations well beyond this gathering.
We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and we’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to come together, share ideas, and push our industry forward in eco-injection moulding.
