Southborough Community Hub – RCI Facades Awards and NFRC Awards
The Southborough Communiy Hub project, where we worked on behalf of Baxall Construction has been shortlisted for two categories at the RCI Facades Awards; Best use of brickslip cladding system supplied by Taylor Maxwell and Best use of a rainscreen system using glass and ceramics with EH Smith Specialist Facades.
As well as this, Southborough Hub has also been shortlisted in the rainscreen category for the NFRC Awards.
The ICS team are proud to have been part of this outstanding development, working on the Medical Centre and Community Centre, bringing a great addition to the Southborough community and will be a focal point for years to come.
Our Rainscreen team carried out a precise install of the supporting aluminium framework structure, followed by EH Smith Specialist Facades Kerratwin K20 tile rainscreen system on the external façade.
The vertically installed Kerratwin K20 tiles are predominantly matt brown with gloss Southborough red window recess infills to the Medical Centre and horizontally installed Kerratwin K20 tiles in gloss Southborough red to the Community Centre.
To the base and lower level walls of the Medical and Community centres we installed Taylor Maxwell dark grey Corium Brick Slips on a carrier support system complete with specialist Parex Motar pointing, finished in a contrasting mid grey.
We also installed stunning diamond shaped Zinc Shingles to the Community Centre.
This was installed to fire rated plywood, with a helping hand system fixed with secret fix clips and finished with zinc edge trims.
Our flat roof operatives installed a DANOSA UK 3 layer felt system, with tapered insulation to a high standard, both on the Community and Medical Centre.
It was a pleasure to work with the main contractor Baxall Construction’s site on team on this project.
Durrington High School – NFRC Awards
Durrington High School project based in Worthing, East Sussex has been shortlisted in the sheeting and cladding category for the NFRC Awards.
ICS worked on the 880-square-meter sports hall installing the Euroclad SF500 roof system.
We also carried out the wall cladding installation in a blue and grey mix (Azure Blue, Goosewing Grey and Gull Grey) of Kingspan Insulated Panels KS1000MR panels to blend with the surroundings.
This involved a 6 operative site rolling operation with the Euroclad Ltd site rolling team of the SF500 Roof Panels.
This demonstrated skills and exceptional teamwork with our Site Operatives, Site Supervisor and Contracts Manager working together to ensure the site rolling was completed without any damage to the sheeting.
It was a pleasure to work alongside Collinson Construction with this project.
