Mobility Engineering has recently supplied a Slat Top Chain Conveyor used within a conveyor system to move boxes of oil product. At the infeed section the boxes are transported on an incline around a 90 degree section and up to the outfeed.
The conveyor uses acetal slats which are snapped to a base chain, allowing movement. The slat chain has a load capacity suitable for carrying heavier objects and being side-flexing allows the product to travel around the bend.
Wear strips are used to support and guide the product and are designed to prevent chain or belt movement and reduce vibration. They are manufactured from UHMW plastic which provides a high wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction. A drive is needed to make the chain move and for this application a 3ph motor and gearbox is fitted to allow a speed of approximately 12m/minute. The frame and supports are of stainless steel construction
