RC Nifty Challenge 2024-25 Launch Event

On 6th November 2024, Niftylift proudly hosted the launch event for the RC Nifty Challenge 2024-25 at its Shenley Wood headquarters. Now in its second year, this exciting initiative engages students from eight Milton Keynes schools, encouraging them to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through a hands-on engineering competition.

Encouraging the Next Generation of Engineers

The RC Nifty Challenge is designed to spark students’ interest in STEM subjects, introducing them to real-world engineering concepts and problem-solving skills. For Niftylift, it also serves as an opportunity to connect with young talent and showcase the rewarding career pathways available in engineering and manufacturing.

Launch Event Highlights

The launch day was packed with interactive activities to prepare students for the challenge ahead:

• Introduction to the RC Nifty Challenge – Students received an overview of the competition, including its timeline, rules, and objectives, leading up to competition day in April 2025.
• Tour of the Niftylift Factory – Teams and teachers explored Niftylift’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, gaining valuable insight into how innovative products are designed and built.
• Navigating the RC Nifty Website Portal – Students were introduced to the RC Nifty online platform, where they can access resources, assembly instructions, and communicate with the Niftylift support team.
• Engineering Careers Talk – Niftylift’s team shared information on career opportunities, apprenticeships, and pathways into engineering, highlighting how STEM skills translate into real-world success.
• Project Box Distribution – Each school received a project box, containing RC Nifty model kits, a comprehensive parts list, and step-by-step assembly instructions to kickstart their journey.

Countdown to Competition Day

The RC Nifty Challenge will culminate in an exciting competition event in April 2025. Students will present their RC Nifty models, demonstrate their engineering solutions, and compete in various challenges assessed by a panel of Niftylift judges. The event will be a celebration of teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving—fundamental skills for aspiring engineers.
