Behind the Scenes: Spring Summer 2017

We are a close-knit group here at Nomads. Based in gorgeous Cornwall, each season we are surrounded by raw, organic inspiration and become a closer collective. This season is particularly exciting because it is, our Senior designer, Kate’s first collection for us. We truly love what we she has done here in the Nomads studio. Here is a little behind the scenes treat from our newest collection – arriving this week! The Shoot Our talented creative team finished designing this collection by June 2016. Once all the samples for the collection had arrived, they couldn’t wait to plan the location shoot. As we are based in Cornwall, we used the natural landscapes that we are blessed to be surrounded by - we just had to cross all our fingers and toes for gorgeous, Summer weather. We also shot in a striking English garden just down the road from us. We were incredibly lucky with the weather as the sunshine beamed for us all week. Kate and The Inspiration Kate is inspired by her surroundings as well as through travel, which fits our ethos perfectly. She adores relaxed shapes, mixtures of delicate colours and ethnic prints. After her initial research, Kate uses her extensive knowledge and passion to create mood boards of looks she would like to achieve and the rest falls into place. Kate has excelled with this collection. She has brought in new sophisticated textural woven fabrics and handloom pieces whilst staying true to our Nomads heritage of embroidery and traditional block printing. The Collection Kate has built upon our existing brand by adding fresh shapes and new details to the collection. She has succeeded by bringing us an exquisite range of new style outfits, sophisticated colours and jaw dropping pieces which, have been beautifully brought together in her Spring Summer 2017 collection. We would love to thank our incredible photographer, Simon. He has worked with us for a good few seasons now and he really is special to us. Our Makeup and hair stylist, Kate is a dream to work with and brightens up all situations. Finally, our stunning model for this season, Tess, who has such a magical presence, on and off camera who made the shoot fly by with no dramas whatsoever. Come back soon please! Happy Spring!
