Not because of the problem that I am facing, but because I am worried that there are, so it seems to me, some unsavory companies around that will happily chase and ‘threaten’ website owners the appear to using an image without the copyright holders permission.
Or Are They?
In my instance, it appears the copyright is held by the photographer who took the shot, although the image is ‘owned’ by another company, the one he was on assignment for.
If this is legally correct, a matter that will be debated in court I imagine, then I, and perhaps others are not in actual fact being accused of copyright infringement (although this will have happened) but because we have not paid the owner of the image (a technicality I know, but perhaps an important one in law?) for its use.
Whilst this may be important, the real issue is that there in an image (or least there was) on my site that I should have paid to use. I know it got there through a mistake made by an ex-employee (not that this matters) and is something that she should not have done.
The thing is, is it possible that she did it on more than one occasion, that other images are lurking on my site that could cause me similar problems? I think it is more than a distant possibility and as I have no way of checking my site, as I lack the software that the ‘infringement companies’ own, the only way forward for me (and I suspect for many others) is to delete any and all suspect posts.
I will therefore be removing all the blogs on my site before 2010 as in my case I cannot access them to delete any images (it’s a WordPress thing it seems).

Is anyone else worried about this area? I think they should be, and as I am so worried about it, I will continue with my Crusade to ensure that the matter continue to be raised and that justice is done for all parties, including photographers and there like.
