What Should A Business Expect From an SEO Company?

Unfortunately, there are many stories of businesses being ‘ripped off’ by an SEO firm. Not all SEO agencies are bad of course, but every time I come across such an instance it really upsets me. 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐄𝐎 I think one of the reasons this happens is that businesses don’t really understand SEO and therefore have no real idea about what sort of things the SEO company should be doing for them. One reason for this maybe because these ‘bad’ SEO companies don’t want their customers to know too much, but I really hope that this is not the case. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐄𝐎 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧? They don’t have to, nor should they, know everything about SEO, but they do need to know enough to be able to tell that they may be paying too much for too little. 𝐒𝐨 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐒𝐄𝐎 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 · Providing quick answers to any questions · Finding out what the business wants to be found for on Google · Ensuring the site is fast enough and easy to use · Changing the contents to match the desired keyword targets · Building enough links to make sure that Google ‘trusts’ the customer’s website · Reporting every month, in a manner that is understandable to the customer · As well as of course, getting results…. 𝑺𝒐 𝒊𝒇 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒔𝒌 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐎𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 As you can imagine, this is a very basic view of the whole SEO process, but it should give you an idea of what any business should receive from the agency they engage. Just recently, I have seen two instances where none of this has been done, and what is worse, the SEO agency has been charging many hundreds of pounds for apparently doing very little (if anything).
