ACOUSTIC INSULATION
WHAT IS ACOUSTIC INSULATION?
Acoustic insulation encompasses a range of products and techniques that prevent or reduce the transfer of sound between different spaces, or within a single space. Sound insulation has important health benefits. Noise pollution is a common problem these days, affecting both the mental and physical wellbeing of building occupants.Bovenkant formulier

WHAT IS THE BEST ACOUSTIC INSULATION?
To find out what is the best acoustic insulation, it is essential to distinguish between soundproofing and sound absorption.
Soundproofing products, such as TECSOUND and VELAPHONE, prevent flanking transmission (the structural transmission of sound energy through partition walls, external walls, ceilings or floors). They effectively eliminate both airborne and impact noise. Airborne sound refers to sound waves that travel through the air, while impact sound is generated by the impact or collision of an object with a surface, transmitting vibrations. Soundproofing insulation works in two directions, keeping noise from entering as well as exiting.
Sound absorbing insulation, like PURE-KUSTIK and FIBRO-KUSTIK, reduces noise by absorbing sound waves within indoor spaces. These acoustic insulation products tackle echoes and reverberation.
Whether you opt for acoustic insulation boards, sound insulation rolls, acoustic slab insulation or sound insulation foam, the performance of your acoustic insulation remains unaffected, but it does impact the installation method. The TECSOUND range consists of acoustic insulation rolls, with TECSOUND SY being particularly user-friendly. The built-in self-adhesive layer allows for easy application directly onto most surfaces.
Our sound absorbing insulation range, in turn, includes acoustic insulation boards. PURE-KUSTIK and FIBRO-KUSTIK not only contribute to optimal acoustics but also add aesthetic appeal. Their designs can be customised with prints and colours, offering limitless options to enhance any room’s appearance.
ACOUSTIC INSULATION: APPLICATIONS
Our products and solutions cover a wide range of applications for acoustic insulation and acoustic correction, from floor soundproofing to ceiling acoustic insulation and acoustic insulation for walls. We even offer materials for acoustic insulation to water, rain and drain pipes in buildings, such as TECSOUND TUBE S.
Soundproofing insulation can be applied additionally or integrated into the structure during construction or renovation. Sound absorbing insulation, in turn, is always visible, either mounted on interior walls or affixed to the ceiling.
DOES ACOUSTIC INSULATION HAVE THERMAL PROPERTIES?
TECSOUND itself lacks thermal properties. However, once applied to a wall, it must be covered with a second hard surface for protection. Therefore, it is typically used in combination with other products that do provide thermal efficiency. Any acoustic insulation integrated into the wall of a building will also have thermal properties and must undergo testing. Nonetheless, the best results are achieved by combining acoustic and thermal insulation.
We can supply a wide range of build-ups that have been extensively tested, but you can also contact us for advice and bespoke thermal acoustic insulation specifications.
