1.    CERTIFICATION AND LEGISLATION

a)    BBA (British Board of Agrément) Approval

Every system supplied by Soprema is BBA Approved. BBA Approved systems are independently verified to be fit for purpose – with the British Board of Agrément providing comprehensive testing – and to meet the required building standards. As BBA Approved systems come with all the relevant product and regulatory information, the certification also makes it easy to identify the specific technical and performance properties that are required for a certain project.

b)    FM Approval

In addition, Soprema has an extensive range of FM Approved roofing systems to choose from. Whereas Building Regulations are designed to protect building users, FM Approvals (which specialises in third-party testing and certification services) assists property owners in avoiding losses. FM Approved systems meet the highest loss protection standards.

Before obtaining the FM certification mark, systems are tested to verify that they will perform even in the most difficult circumstances. They undergo a rigorous testing process for interior and exterior fire performance, wind performance, and hail, corrosion and accelerated weathering performance. The resulting FM Approval guarantees the highest levels of safety, quality and durability.

c)     B_ROOF(t4) systems

In addition, as several insurance companies ask that residential projects go beyond B_ROOF(t4) in terms of non-combustibility, Soprema has developed a Non-Combustible Roofing System (NCRS) with stonewool insulation. We have tested it for B_ROOF(t4) compatibility, so it is proven to be fully compatible to the market.

d)    Acoustic testing

As a final example: with TECSOUND and many other soundproofing solutions we have reliable system build-ups that provide the level of acoustic performance required. Whatever regulations may apply, our acoustic experts can formulate advice on the best soundproofing material and the amount of absorption material needed to achieve the desired acoustics, for instance to meet the BB93 (Building Bulletin 93) performance standard.

Moreover, we operate a network of approved contractors. These installers are trained in the application of our products and understand the build-up of all the systems supplied and installed by Soprema (with the inclusion of our acoustic systems).
