The ALSAN range of cold applied liquid resin systems is one of our most versatile waterproofing options. In what follows, we will explain how ALSAN PMMA liquid waterproofing membrane systems can be used for multiple applications.
EXCEPTIONAL RANGE OF APPLICATIONS
FROM CAR PARKS TO TERRACES
Our complete offer of polymethyl methacrylate liquid applied membranes (PMMA membranes), which includes accessories and reinforcements cold applied in liquid form, can be used in fully reinforced systems for waterproofing protection, for upstands and detailing (such as flashings, penetrations, curbs and drains), balconies, stairs and terraces.
We also have fully and partially reinforced systems available that can withstand the heavy vehicular traffic of car parks as well as consistent pedestrian traffic, without the trafficable areas needing additional coverage such as paving.
Because ALSAN PMMA is resistant to chemicals, it can also be used as a protection layer for surfaces that are exposed to harmful contaminants. This makes the waterproofing solution suitable for laboratories, also because it provides a seamless finish. Clinical and sterile environments in general call for liquid waterproofing because joints are prohibited there.
Finally, ALSAN PMMA can be used in fully reinforced systems designed for garden roofs, pavers and water feature installations.
SITE RESTRICTIONS
The ALSAN PMMA product range is the go-to solution for work sites with limited access or space for equipment and for sites that do not allow the use of a flame during application. In other words, the product makes it easy to comply with Safe2Torch.
VARIOUS FINISHES
Various finishes are available from Soprema, depending on the application. Terraces, flat roofs or parking areas benefit from a Deco structure finish that is very slip-resistant, or for a Deco mix finish (non-slip with coloured sand or microchips). Decorative waterproofing systems for terraces or flat roofs, for instance, can be finished with Deco finish+ (smooth).
BROOF(T4) AND BBA
ALSAN PMMA is classified BROOF(t4) when used in a warm roof system with the inclusion of insulation. BBAs are available for ALSAN 770 and ALSAN 770/870 RS.
- ALSAN 770 is a waterproofing solution for use on flat, pitched and protected zero fall roofs with limited access, and on flat and zero fall blue roofs with limited access.
- ALSAN 770/870 RS is designed for use as a waterproofing and wearing surface on car park decks.
ADVANTAGES OF ALSAN PMMA
ALSAN PMMA contains no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). The solution is frequently used in facilities that house medical applications, as it poses no health risk at all. A second advantage is that ALSAN PPMA can be applied in temperatures as low as -5 °C. Depending on the outside temperature, the amount of ALSAN CAT CATALYST necessary to trigger the curing reaction of ALSAN PMMA resins varies. On warm days, less catalyst is required.
Another key characteristic is ease of installation and fast curing. Moving from primer to finish takes just a few hours, and the product can be applied to any substrate by changing the primer. ALSAN PMMA can be used with all other Soprema waterproofing systems, and 20-year warranties are available for ALSAN systems as standard, determined by the system specified.
Finally, ALSAN PMMA offers endless aesthetic options. The finishing components are available in all RAL colours and can be used for decorative applications such as creating tile effects on balconies and terraces, car park marking and line bay marking and arrows. We can also use colour quartz sands for decorative finishings at your request.
