Position Title: INSPECTOR – QUALITY ASSURANCE Natural Work Team: QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT / PRODUCTION / STORES Work Location: Arrowsmith Engineering & Consultants Limited MEDSTEAD, ALTON Reports To: QUALITY MANAGER Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 8.30 –5.00pm ½ hr Lunch Clock / Salary: SALARY JOB PURPOSE: Working within a modern building, manufacturing aerospace / deep sea precision parts. The QA Inspector is responsible for determining that products conform to specified requirements. This shall be accomplished by inspecting, monitoring and releasing to established acceptance criteria. QA Inspectors shall also ensure that quality related functions and policies established by Arrowsmith Engineering are adhered to. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: To perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records, working closely with the Engineering Authority and Vendors to verify processes, procedures and eliminate waste To process first stage and final inspection of machined components To process vendor component inspection in an efficient manner in order to determine if the product meets acceptance requirement, approved design data and quality control requirements To perform quality assurance tasks within the daily works, working as a stamp-holder to certify the completed work in accordance with airworthiness regulations To assist the QA Manager with maintaining the facilities and also assist during quality audits with the relevant Aviation authorities and customers Completing and maintaining Quality Assurance reports and documentation required to comply with company and customer procedures and order requirements PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES: At least 5 years of experience performing first article inspection (preferably within machining or engineering) Skilled in the use of manufacturing inspection instruments and methods for first article and in process inspection of precision machined parts Proven ability to interpret engineering drawing and quality requirements Professional conduct demonstrated at all times used to working to tight deadlines Meticulous attention to detail, with a methodical approach to tasks Positive attitude combined with a ‘common sense’ approach Good verbal and written communication skills, at all levels Reliable and trustworthy Flexible attitude and approach Able – bodied (able to lift safe loads without assistance) Solid mechanical / engineering knowledge Ability to work well within a team and as an individual Takes pride in self and work Complete understanding of the requirements of AS9100 or ISO9001
