Stephen, whose father Philip was one of the original founders of Weir & Carmichael, joined the business as Finance Director in early 1991 working alongside his brother John, then MD and his cousin Barrie Williams. Over the next few years he set the company on a firm footing with the introduction of new IT systems to manage stock control and customer orders and invoicing and a structured accounts department. This was complemented by the introduction of a new contact management system used by all the sales staff.
Eventually taking over as MD, Stephen steered the company towards significantly increased turnover and profitability placing the business on a very firm footing.
He has now decided it's time to retire and we wish him a very happy retirement. We hope he enjoys spending more time with his family, particularly his new grand daughter.
